La Spirulina du Rocher is an operation dedicated to the artisanal and ecological production of spirulina, a micro-algae with multiple health benefits. Located in Roquebrune sur Argens, in a 2000m2 horticultural greenhouse, spirulina is grown responsibly, taking advantage of the ideal conditions offered by this enclosed space which allows optimal control of temperature, humidity and light.
Spirulina is produced in three 110m2 tanks, where the process is efficient and resource-friendly, requiring little water and energy. Production takes place far from any pollutants, in quality water, to ensure a healthy and environmentally friendly final product.
Spirulina is harvested at night, using a rapid and efficient filtration method. This limits the proliferation of bacteria in the culture tanks and increases the concentration of beneficial pigments, notably phycocyanin.
After harvest, the spirulina is pressed, reduced to "spaghetti", then dried at low temperature to preserve nutrients, vitamins and minerals, while minimizing the risk of contamination.
